 Our weekly timetable

 Summer Term 2026

This term we will be using the text by Eric Carle of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' Through this we will be learning the story and then making adaptions to create our own version.  We will also be looking after our own caterpillars and watching as they turn into butterflies.

Spring Term 2026

This term we will be thinking about 'Who can help us.'  Through familiar nursery rhymes we will be learning about the work of different people who can help us.

We are looking forward to welcoming all our new children to Cherry class for the Autumn Term.  This half term our topic is 'On the Farm . . . Now and Then' .  We will be learning about animals that live on the farm as well as how farming methods have changed from the past to today.  We will also be sharing stories set on a farm, including 'The Little Red Hen'.  Once we are all settled in we will start our daily trips to Phoneme Land where we will start learning our sounds and to begin to use these to read words.

This half term we will be looking at traditional fairy tales set in the woods.  Our main story focus will be Goldilocks and the three bears and Hansel and Gretel.

This half term is topic is 'Underground.'  We will be enjoying the stories of Jack and the beanstalk.

This half term we will be learning about the season of Winter and what it is like to love in cold places.  We will then think about people who help us in our local area (real life super heroes)
