Our aim is to provide a caring, stimulating, and happy environment where children from the age of two can begin their exciting journey into education. We believe that early learning should be filled with curiosity, creativity, and joy. Through play, exploration, and gentle guidance, we help each child develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning that will support them as they grow.
I would like to introduce the nursery team...
My name is Stacey Mills, and I am the Nursery Manager. I have been part of the school community for many years and have had the pleasure of leading the nursery for quite some time. With over 20 years of experience in childcare, I am passionate about providing a loving, caring, and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, and happy. I take great pride in helping children grow, learn, and develop at their own pace, ensuring they feel confident, supported, and ready for the next stage of their journey.
I work in close collaboration with Mrs. Hullah and Mrs. Moriarty, whose dedication, expertise, and warmth make them tremendous assets to our nursery. Their professionalism, creativity, and genuine care for the children greatly enhance the quality of our provision and contribute to the positive, supportive atmosphere that defines our setting.

Mrs Moore and Mrs Jones are the class teachers and Mrs Mantle is the classroom teaching assistant.

At Luston nursery, we take great pride in creating a rich and stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued, curious, and inspired to learn. Our planning is carefully designed to balance structured, purposeful activities with opportunities for free-flow, child-initiated play. This approach allows children to follow their own interests, make independent choices, and develop confidence in their abilities.
Our dedicated staff observe and listen closely to the children, using their interests and developmental needs to shape meaningful experiences that promote exploration, creativity, and problem-solving. Through this responsive approach, children are encouraged to take the lead in their learning, while being gently guided and supported by skilled practitioners.
We follow a topic-based approach to learning, providing a broad and engaging framework that introduces new ideas and concepts in a way that is relevant and exciting for young minds. However, we remain flexible and adaptable, allowing children’s curiosity to steer the direction of learning. This ensures that every child’s unique strengths, needs, and interests are nurtured, supporting their holistic development—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Our ultimate goal is to create a warm, inclusive environment where children develop a lifelong love of learning and the confidence to explore the world around them.
The nursery is one room with an joining outdoor under shelter area and have access to the school's forest school, playing field and large playground.
