Federation of Penny Acres & Wigley Primary Schools

Uniform

The majority of parents prefer their children to wear recommended school dress which at Penny Acres consists of;

  • grey skirt, shorts or trousers
  • white or red polo-shirt or blouse
  • red sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan
  • red and white gingham summer dress
  • red fleece jacket.

We ask you to send your child/children into school on their PE days wearing their PE kits. This makes for a much easier transition between classroom based and PE lessons.

PE days are as follows:

All of Penny Acres – Tuesday

Wigley Infants – Monday

Wigley Juniors – Tuesday

PE kit to be made up of the following please:

  • Plain, house-coloured shirt (No football kits or heavily branded shirts please)
  • Black shorts/bottoms
  • Suitable footwear for both indoor and outdoor activities.

Please note, shirts do not need to carry the school logo.

Jewellery: One pair of plain studs (gold or silver) only.

During the cooler months, the children are to wear their school jumpers/cardigans as an additional layer which can then be removed for their PE session.

How do I buy a school uniform for my child?
In line with the Department for Education’s statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms, we have a supply of uniform items available in school to support families facing financial difficulties—please contact us so we can assist in accordance with this guidance.

Wet or snowy weather considerations:
Please ensure that your child brings a pair of shoes for indoors if they need to come to school in Wellington boots.

All items of clothing must be marked with your child's name.
